September 12, 2018 – PublicSchoolWORKS, the number one provider of complete, online safety and regulatory compliance programs for K-12 schools, and Company Nurse LLC, the premier nurse triage and injury reporting service for workplace injuries, announced today at CAJPA’s 35th Annual Conference a new partnership to provide a unique injury and risk management solution for schools across the country.
Company Nurse is the first workers’ comp nurse triage service that ensures injured workers get the proper care while helping keep claims and costs low. Paired with the PublicSchoolWORKS Accident Management Program, which automates key risk-reduction initiatives and corrective actions, districts can:
- Ensure staff are effectively supported in dealing with workplace injuries
- Thoroughly investigate and document staff accidents and put controls in place to address related hazards
- Notify key staff regarding accident management status and any needed post-incident actions
- Notify MCOs and TPAs of staff accidents and ensure they are provided with First Reports of Injury (FROI)
- Maintain consistency of accident services, reporting and management throughout the district, year after year
- Reduce administrative time and effort with staff accidents and follow up
“We understand the challenge school districts face in maintaining control of all the information and activities that are necessary for managing workplace accidents, not to mention figuring out how to prevent problems from happening in the first place,” states Steve Temming, president and CEO of PublicSchoolWORKS. “Our integration with Company Nurse will not only focus on improving workplace injury management for schools, but also help districts make data-driven decisions for their workplace safety program to prevent future staff accidents and reduce related costs.”
When school districts work with both Company Nurse and PublicSchoolWORKS, injured workers call Company Nurse’s 24/7 nurse triage contact center at the point of injury for self-care advice and/or to be referred to the appropriate level of care. Immediately after an injury is reported, all stakeholders receive a detailed report of the incident and this information flows through to the PublicSchoolWORKS Accident Management System, automatically triggering post-incident management tasks to resolve safety issues, put prevention controls in place, and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
“Workplace injury management can be difficult to navigate. We have found that putting a nurse at the front end makes the process much more successful. With this integration, we can continue to help employees get the care they need and provide school districts with the information they need to immediately take action to mitigate risk,” said Paul Binsfeld, founder and president of Company Nurse.
“We are excited to embark on this integration and to be able to deliver a highly effective staff accident solution that reduces the frequency, severity and costs of all incidents,” said Temming.
