HARDENING SPEEDS UP, SURVEYS SAY
The National Underwriter (12/4/2000) reported that workers' comp
led a variety of seven lines of insurance in pricing increases the first
nine months of 2000.
Surveys of agents and brokers conducted by the Council of Insurance
Brokers and Agents and Conning and Company showed insurance premium
trends in the early part of the year have continued at a significant
rate.
Workers' comp set the pace with an increase of 9.5 percent, followed
by commercial auto up 9 percent.
